There were more than 300 exhibitors that lined the trade show floor at SXSWi, but only a few stood out with something that was really new to the market. Here are a few that intrigued us to learn more…
Daily Feats – www.dailyfeats.com – an online community where people can earn rewards for positive actions like working out, eating healthy, or saying thank-you (you can browse the list here). Participants earn reward points that can be redeemed for discounts with partnered local or national brands (Gap, Home Depot, iTunes).
Blue Calypso – www.calyp.com – the messaging on this one was a bit unclear, but essentially this is a platform where an advertiser runs campaigns/deals and a person can earn points/rewards for endorsing it and sending it out to their networks. Not entirely sure how this one will go – but I think they are on to something in terms matching companies with brand ambassadors that fit their target audience.
iMeet – www.imeet.com – I work virtually a lot – so this is something I’m looking forward to trialing. It’s a virtual meeting room that you can personalize, switch from voice to video, share presentations, connect to people via Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn on the spot – seems like a better version of WebEX, and a more reliable resource than Skype (I still need to test that part to confirm). It’s a bit pricey at $69/month – but I pay $50 for WebEX and iMeet appears to have a more personal feel. Check out the free trial here.
OneWay Commerce – www.onewaycommerce.com – this one is for all of our small business and NFP clients looking to add merchandise to their site for an additional revenue stream. OneWay Commerce gives you a Facebook storefront – which is a great way to open a store quickly to a broad audience. It also integrates with Quickbooks for easy processing. There are no monthly fees – you pay 1% of sales – which means you only spend money if you make money. Worth looking into if you’re in the market for a virtual storefront.
